Rolling Over
It was just another day at home with Campbell today until she decided to roll over! I wouldn't believe it except I was watching her with my own two eyes. I wish I had captured it on the video camera. Any time she in on the playmat now I hover over her with the video camera waiting for her to do it again. She was laying on her back on her playmat and rolled over to her stomach. I immediately placed her back on her back and ran outside to tell Austin the good news. I called my Mama to tell her and she said that she knew it wouldn't be long as we had previously talked about it on Friday. Most babies don't start rolling over until they are 3 months old, I can already see Campbell is going to be an overachiever :-) Needless to say I am one proud mama. I told Austin before we know it she will be going off to college!

6 Weeks Come & Gone
Both Campbell and I both had our 6 week check ups this week. Fortunately we both got clean bills of health. Our pediatrician's office made an error when scheduling Campbell's 6 week appointment so we were able to avoid shots at least until next week. Campbell continues to nurse like a champ and her progress was definitely noted by our pediatrician. Dr. Dodds said that he is very impressed with how she is doing and how we are doing as well. Campbell is becoming more alert every day which means less naps and more awake time. She is starting to coo and smile a ton. She also laughed the other day while napping which was the cutest thing I have ever heard.
Campbell's 6 Week Stats:
Weight : 8 lbs 15 ounces (50th percentile) when she was first born she was in the 5th percentile so I am so proud of her
Height: 20 3/4 inches (25th percentile) Dr. Dodds said she will fit perfectly into our petite family.
As of my doctor's appointment I have lost 28 pounds. I know this number will continue to drop as I am back exercising at least 3-4 times a week and "watching" what I eat as much as I can while eating enough calories to keep up my milk supply. It feels so good being able to run and my body appreciates it. I told Austin exercise causes endorphins and endorphins make me happy. Austin has been so great with watching Campbell so that I can have enough time to run. I cannot wait until Campbell can go on runs with me in her jogging stroller, but we have awhile before that will happen.
It's so hard to believe that Campbell is 6 weeks old, which means half of my maternity leave is over. I feel very blessed that I am able to take the full 12 weeks and try to remind myself of that whenever I feel overwhelmed. Austin continues to be a huge help to me and lets me rest when he knows I need it the most. He can feed Campbell in the middle of the night, now that we have introduced bottles. She has outgrown her first newborn outfit. I cannot believe how big she is getting and I cannot wait to see her personality develop. It really is wonderful thing being her mommy!

Poultry Festival Weekend
We had a wonderful time at the 25th Poultry Festival. Yes friends we did make it to the Poultry Festival this year, I don't think either of us had made an appearance since we graduated college, but figured it would be a good family outing. Friday night was a big night for us. I let Campbell spend her first night away with my parents. According to my mama she did wonderful, but I am pretty sure she would say that even if she screamed all night. I wasn't worried at all and I knew she was in great hands with my parents. Friday night we went to eat Mexican and then went to hear our friends band the Soulfeathers. It was great seeing so many of our friends in one place and nice to be able to relax. Saturday I got up bright and early and headed over to my parents to see Campbell. Around lunch time we headed "uptown" with our neighbors in tow. Whitnie had never been to Batesburg-Leesville so she was in for quite the treat. We were able to get some festival food (also known as clog our arteries) and do a little bit of shopping around the afternoon storms. Whitnie and I both got some super cute things for the girls. I am most excited about her new hair bows and overnight bag. I decided that my old Vera Bradley bag was not good enough Campbell and she needed her own bag complete with her monogram. Fortunately one of the shops had anything I could have wanted for her. I contained myself but got a few goodies. We had planned on coming back to West Columbia Saturday evening but we were so exhausted that we ended up spending the night with my parents. Campbell now has two nights away under her belt. Here are a few pictures from Saturday, we were so glad Jeff, Whitnie, & Emerson came and hope that we can make this an annual Childers/Hendrix outing.

One Month Old & Mothers Day
Our sweet baby girl is a month old today. I find it ironic that she turned a month old on Mother's Day. Who knew this time last year that I would be celebrating Mother's Day this year? Campbell has been an absolute blessing and continues to be the best baby. Now I truly understand what it means to be a mother. I never knew a love like this until I heard her cry on the day she was born.
Highlights from her 1st Month
I love that she looks around for me when she hears my voice. She seems to enjoy taking a bath, she must get that from her mommy. She is such a noisy sleeper but I love her little noises she makes, it is absolutely the cutest thing. She is loving tummy time and is able to pick up her head switching it from side to side. She much rather nap during tummy time than play or work on strengthening her neck muscles which that is okay too. The girl can definitely give some looks, like when me or mama are singing her a song. It is hysterical!
We enjoyed our first Mother's Day by doing exactly what Mommy wanted this weekend.
Saturday morning I went and got a much needed massage and then around lunch we headed over to Janine & Ryan's for a little pool time. Campbell enjoyed the shade in the hammock with Ryan when she wasn't napping inside. How adorable are these pictures??
Seriously Ryan & Janine are going to make the best parents!
We had some friends over Saturday night and grilled out. Austin cooked a delicious meal and Campbell was an absolute angel. What a perfect Saturday :-)
Sunday we headed to Batesburg bright and early and went to church with my mommy. This was Campbell's second trip to church and she was so well behaved. We hadn't taken her to the church I was baptized and married in so it was very nice to visit and see a lot of familiar faces. We headed over to Mama & Daddy's for lunch. Mama really outdid herself as usual. Here are some pictures from Sunday. Sunday afternoon we headed over to Austin's parents for some pool time and to hang out with Austin's family. Campbell chilled under the umbrella and enjoyed meeting the rest of her family.
And here are some pictures from our 1 month photo shoot which Emma & Campbell obviously enjoyed Sunday afternoon.
Oh and one more picture for the road, how adorable are these two?
And a special Happy Mother's Day to my mama. Thanks for being such a wonderful mama and giving me the perfect example of what a mother should be. I have a lot to live up to and only hope to be half as great a mother to Campbell as you are to me. We are very lucky to have you! And thanks to you and Daddy for my gorgeous bracelet, I absolutely love it!

Campbell's First Birthday Party
Campbell had another first this past weekend. We went to Kate's 1st birthday party on Sunday. Kate is the daughter of our wonderful friends Brian & Kayce. They sure do know how to throw a great birthday party. Campbell got all dressed up for the occasion and had such a great time, she slept through the entire thing. She did get to meet quite a few of her future friends. Tyler and Trey both 19 months were very interested in Campbell and kept peeking into her car-seat. I wish I had captured a picture of this, but was slack. As we were leaving the party we were telling Kate goodbye and she decided she wanted to take Campbell's pacifier. Happy Birthday precious Kate, we know you & Campbell will be the best of friends!
