4 Month Check-Up

We had our four month check up today and Campbell is doing wonderful. Our pediatrician gave us the thumbs up and told us just to keep on doing what we are doing. He said she is excellent at making eye contact and looking around. She even did well with her 4 month shots. Here are her 4 month stats:

Height - 23 inches (25% percentile)
Weight - 12 pounds (25% percentile)
Head Circumference - 40 cm (50% percentile)

As we suspected Campbell is still on the smaller side. She has doubled her birth weight so that's really all we could ask for. He is happy with the amount of milk she is eating and said it was okay if we introduced rice cereal and depending on how that went go ahead with baby food. He thinks she will have two teeth on the bottom in the next couple weeks! My sweet baby is turning into such a big girl.

And now I present Campbell eating rice cereal for the first time:

Baby Wall

A huge congratulations to one of my best friends Janine and her husband Ryan on their new addition due on January 13, 2012. Campbell and Baby Wall are sure to be the best of friends. We can’t wait to meet you Baby Wall!

3 Months of Love

Campbell is three months old and on a sad note I went back to work this week. I am again so very thankful that I was able to spend 12 wonderful weeks at home with her. I cried ALL DAY LONG on Tuesday. I think my boss thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown. Thankfully the rest of the week went a lot more smoothly. Everybody has been so sweet and understanding and one of my colleagues told me his wife cried every day for three weeks. Luckily Mama has been watching Campbell all week to make the transition a little smoother for me. I have been able to go home every day at lunch and play with Campbell. And of course I am home by 4:45. I am pretty sure Mama has died and gone to heaven getting to watch our sweet girl every day. We are very blessed.

3 Month Stats:
As of 6/29 she weighed 11 pounds
Wearing a size 1 diaper
Still wearing newborn clothes but she is finally feeling out some of her 3 month outfits
Drinking 5 ounces most of the time, but takes 6 ounces first thing in the morning and before bedtime

Things Campbell loves:

Being told she is beautiful – Let’s be honest what woman doesn’t love to be told she is beautiful but Campbell smiles like she knows it every single time I tell her. Of course we think she is the most beautiful baby in the entire world.

Looking at herself in the mirror – my guess she is thinking wow Mommy is right I am beautiful but boy does she make some faces at herself in the mirror.

Sucking her thumb- its official we have a thumb sucker. I attempt to take her finger out of her mouth and give her pacifier but she loves those fingers and sucks on them any chance she gets.

Being outside – if she starts to get fussy we walk outside and she is happy as can be.

Being sung to – Me, mama, and even Austin sing to her and she loves it. I have a couple of tunes I sing first thing in the morning and a few special bath time songs and she lights up when I sing those to her. Making her smile and coo makes me one happy mommy.

Talking – the girl has a lot to say, let’s face it she gets it honestly. She talks the most when she is on her changing table. I can only assume she is talking to her animals over the top of the changing pad. I affectionately call the animals lions, and tigers, and bears oh my (I will forever love Wizard of Oz). I am pretty sure the animals are a monkey, lion, and giraffe, oh well. She also has a lot to say whenever her belly is full.

Being nude – let’s hope she grows out of this J see the reference above most of said talking is done when she isn’t wearing any “panties”

Patty cake- after you get done playing patty cake she holds her hands up to do it again.

Things Campbell dislikes:

Burping –I honestly can’t say that I blame her on this one. She is such a good natured happy girl thankfully!

Accomplishments:

Teething – she is drooling up a storm and her gums have been giving her a fit. I have tried to see if I feel anything coming through. I don’t just yet, but her gums are extremely hard. So we have been using baby orajel, teething rings, and an endless amount of bibs.

Pulling & Standing up – I seriously think as soon as Campbell can sit up she is going to stand up and walk out of the room. We practice pulling up and she wants to pull up and stand. Mama does this with her a lot and she loves it.

Neck control

Sleeping – we have made huge strides with our sleeping within the last couple weeks. Campbell usually goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:30 sometimes earlier and is sleeping until at least 5:30 most days closer to 6:00. We finally have a bedtime routine down pat. So she is getting at least 10 hours of sleep each night. She has also gotten much better at taking a morning and afternoon nap.

Happy Three Months sweet baby Mommy and Daddy love you so much! We are getting our official three month pictures tomorrow so stay tuned for that.
