Dear Campbell,
I cannot believe we are merely two months away from your first birthday. It amazes me how fast time goes by and with each passing day I feel more emotional about my baby turning one. When I scheduled your one year pictures and while planning your first birthday I cannot help but feel a wave of sadness. You are learning something new every day it seems. You are the smartest, sweetest, most beautiful baby and I hope you are always this way.
New “Tricks”
You can now play Indian by yourself (Leslie Allen I have a video for you!)
You can point out the bee in your favorite book
When we ask you where is the lamb’s nose? You point to it. We are working on where is Campbell’s nose.
You can stand independently for about 10 seconds before you topple over.
You took your first steps when you were 9 months old amazingly enough. You can really move when we hold one hand or when walking behind one of your push toys.
You love to fake cough because you get a reaction out of us; your Daddy chooses to ignore you when you do this.
You love to mimic the sounds I make. If I clear my throat you clear yours, if I cough you cough, if I burp you try and make the same nose. It’s pretty comical and you love to get a laugh out of mommy.
Words you say
Ma-ma (personally my favorite)
Da-da
G-g (GiGi, but my mommy thinks you are trying to say good girl to Emma)
Bye-bye
And whole bunch of other words I haven’t quite figured out yet, you are trying to say something that starts with b, who knows?
What’s new in your world?
You are wearing 9 month clothes; you have even worn some of your 12 month outfits.
You are still drinking your 4 bottles I suspect we will be moving down to 3 bottles soon. And probably next month we will begin the transition strictly to sippy cups. I don’t foresee this being an issue at all. You are ahead of the eight ball.
You are cutting 4 teeth! All up top, I can finally see the white spots in your mouth. Two have broken through your gums.
You had your first illness this past month. Dr. Dodds said we are extremely lucky this was your first illness. Your ear infection seems to have cleared up and you are back to your normal self.
You squealed whenever I got home from work Friday and you saw me, it was the cutest!
You love playing in my makeup bag when I am getting ready in the mornings.
You love pulling out all of your bottles, pacifiers, and sippy cups from your drawer in the kitchen. This keeps you entertained and you will play by yourself while rummaging through the drawer.
You continue to be a great eater and will eat anything I put in front of you.
We have been dealing with some separation anxiety issues for about the last month. Every Sunday it is a struggle when we drop you off in the church nursery. It breaks my heart when we pick you up and you have tears running down your face. I know one day you’ll look forward to playing with your friends. I cannot imagine if I had to take you to daycare every day.
We love you so much Campbell Grace, it really is a privilege to be your mommy.
Love you to the moon and back,
Mommy
