Dear Campbell Grace,
Where oh where did the past twelve months go? I honestly
cannot believe you are one year old. I still think of you as being the teeny
tiny baby I first held in the hospital. You are such a big girl now and
honestly you surprise me almost daily with how smart you are.
What’s new in your world? Lots to be honest!
Your social skills have developed rapidly over the past few
weeks. The new words and phrases you say are so impressive. You say shoes,
thank you, please, juice, Emma, cheese, Gigi, yes(yeah)in addition to the
normal Mama, Da-Da, bye, hey, ball, uh-oh. You are also working on saying
Campbell. As Dr. Dodds said your vocabulary is beyond the normal 6 word
vocabulary as you have already put two words together. You also like to nod
your head, thankfully you have yet to figure out how to say no, or shake your
head no.
Aunt Christianna handed you an Easter egg at your birthday
party and you said thank you in response. She said it melted her heart. I am
just glad you have great manners already!
You now sign please in addition to all of your other signs
and you now do this cute thing when I say what happened Campbell?
You love Emma. Every time I say Campbell can you love Emma
you run over bend down and open your mouth to give her kisses. So sweet!
You do the “moon walk” as we like to call it you walk
(shuffle your feet) backwards. You are running now! You throw the ball pretty
well and typically throw it with your left hand. I wonder if you will be a
lefty like your Mama.
You are completely off of the bottle. Dr. Dodds said you use
the sippy cup the best he had ever seen out of one year old. Proud Mama Moment!
You can also tell us how old you are but holding up one
little finger!
Dr. Dodds said that your motor skills are excellent and you
are very socially engaging. You are very curious about the world around you and
are eager to learn. We are trying to tell you what we are doing every time we
do something. For example Campbell we are brushing your teeth, changing your
clothes, changing your diaper etc.
We have turned your car seat frontwards facing. I know you
are excited about your new views!
12 Month Stats

Height: 28 inches (25th percentile)
Head circumference: 46 cm (50th percentile)
I am so very proud of your growth and for you tripling
that birth weight. You are free to eat everything and anything now as long as
it doesn’t present a choking hazard.
You are wearing mainly 12 month clothes with some 9 month
clothes.
You are wearing size 3 shoes, which you love to pull out
of the closet and tell me shoes.
You are eating three meals a day and two snacks. You have
one sippy cup with whole organic milk and the rest with breast milk. We will continue
feeding you breast milk until we run out.
This past year has been the absolute best year of our
lives. We love you so much and thank God every day for giving us you.
I love you to the moon and back.
Love,
Mama
