Celebrating in St Lucia

We were fortunate enough that Austin's company hit their high goals for 2018 earning another rewards trip. I was beyond thrilled that St Lucia was the chosen destination. I've been dreaming of St Lucia since we watched an episode of Million Dollar Listing and one of the agents was selling real estate there. It did not disappoint! We grabbed a direct flight out of Charlotte and were on our way. We ended up staying at the beautiful Sandals Grande St Lucian and were told by numerous people that our resort was the nicest of the three. We cannot comment as we did not have the opportunity to visit the other two but we were blown away by our resort. It exceeded expectations. Upon arrival we had a little break and then we gathered to celebrate Glen's retirement. We are so very thankful for Glen and Elaine and all they have done for our family. They are truly some of the best people. We ate dinner at Gordon's which ended up being my favorite meal of our entire trip.

Monday was a relaxing day at the resort. We spent the majority of the day relaxing and it was perfection. That night we hit up the Beach Party at the resort and had the best time. I stuck to the basics for dinner but some of the guys branched out and tried curried goat. They said it was good I'll just take their word for it.

Tuesday was excursion day for us. I knew that I wanted to see the Pitons but had no interest in doing the hike. I exercise enough at home that I only want to relax on vacation! We settled on the Piton Sunset Snorkel Cruise and loved it. We made friends with a couple from Atlanta and talked with some folks that were from Charleston. We actually ended up seeing them both at our resort later in the week. We ended the night by eating dinner at the Italian Restaurant.

Wednesday the guys had a fishing trip while the ladies had a spa day. I think the guys were a bit disappointed as they only caught 4 fish but had a great time otherwise. Austin said that the water was pretty rough on that particular day. All the ladies enjoyed their spa treatments. I had a deep tissue massage and a facial. Austin arranged for the group to do a private sunset cruise and it was so nice. Afterwards, we all had dinner together Kimonos and it was delicious.

Thursday being our last full day we tried to relax and soak up our last day. We intended on eating dinner at Soy (the sushi restaurant) however we didn't realize they were closed on Thursdays. We ended up grabbing dinner at the Irish pub.

Friday we were up and ready to head home. Luckily our flight home was uneventful. I think it's such a treat being to spend the week with all of our employees and their spouses. I know that we thoroughly enjoyed a kid free vacation but were ready to see both of our girls!
