Campbell's Birthday

We had quite a fun filled day celebrating our favorite two year old. We started out the day surprising Campbell with a princess bike along with a matching helmet. She was so excited, here is a little of video of her seeing her bike for the first time. She wanted Elmo and Emma to be as excited as she was.

We then headed over to the zoo to visit all of Campbell's favorite animals. Campbell and Gigi visit the zoo quite often so they know most of the actual names of all the animals. I know that the cow's name is Betsy but that's about the extent of the names I know. The monkeys were wound up and I swear the baboons were fixing each others hair. Austin said that they were probably cleaning out the bugs but we will pretend they were braiding each others hair and gossiping. We did all of Campbell's favorites things which including riding the carousel, feeding the goats, feeding the giraffes, riding the train and called it a day.

Happy Birthday To Me!
Next we headed to the Kids Group to visit with Dr. Dodds for Campbell's two year check up. We always love visiting with Dr. Dodds but not as much as our sweet girl does. When given the choice to sit on Mommy's lap or Daddy's lap to be checked out our little flirt said I sit on Dr. Dodds' lap. He has already warned Austin that he is going to his hands full with our little flirt. Dr Dodds described Campbell as being gifted and said that developmentally she is on the level of a three to four year old. All we could say was wow! I knew we a smart girl on our hands but I had no idea of the extent. I am so proud of her. I have to give my mama a lot of credit for the time she spends working with Campbell. Dr. Dodds also says that due to Campbell's vocabulary we should skip over the terrible twos and threes, the verdict is still out on this one.
Just hanging with Dr. Dodds
2 year stats
28 pounds
33 1/2 inches

I was so surprised that Campbell has grown 2 and 1/2 inches taller since her 18 month check up. Also based on her current height she is projected to be 5'7". Say what!?!? Not sure how that happened but I explained to Austin I may be able to have a little super model after all!

Next we headed to Chick Fil A for a lunch date. Campbell had the best time on her date with Mommy and Daddy. She played played played as she likes to say, so we headed home to take a nap. Well our little sweet pea hadn't napped for the two previous days so my expectations were pretty low for nap. After numerous times of rocking Campbell and attempting to lay her down without any success, I laid her in the crib and walked out of her room. Well much to my surprise our little lady decided her second birthday was the ideal time to climb out her crib and after she climbed out she proceeded to open her bedroom door. I'm still asking myself what happened to my baby???? So needless to say there was no nap on her birthday.

Lastly we headed to the State House to have some pictures done, I haven't received all of the pictures yet but here is a sneak peek. Considering we were working with no nap Campbell had the best time and put on a show for our photographer.

Daddy stayed back while we had pictures done and put together Campbell's big girl bed. It seems fitting that you moved to your big girl bed on your second birthday. I was hoping you would stay in the crib a little longer but as you had other ideas.

We had the best time celebrating our little lady and she seemed to have a blast too.

Love this monkey to the moon and back!
