Family Vacation 2013

We just returned from Great Wolf Lodge and we had an absolute ball! Austin planned the trip and I was a little worried there wouldn't be enough fun things to keep Campbell entertained. I will be the first to admit I was totally wrong. Campbell was a total rock star and up for trying anything per the usual. We had one of the lifeguards tell us that she was the smallest person he had ever seen go down the slide, at least willingly. She alternated going down between the green and orange slide and it was not long before our little daredevil was going down face forwards as well going down backwards. Every time she came off the slide she said more mommy or more daddy. We also had different lifeguards on duty tell us at the time of the slide you know she has to go down by herself to which we responded, we know but trust us she loves it! I know Austin and I both got our exercise carrying her up the steps to the slide but she was so excited so it was totally worth it. Not too worry Austin and I spent a little time on the grown up slides and it was a blast. I had forgotten how much I enjoy doing those type of thrill seeking things. We both went down the twisted tornado, I told Austin it would take me until next time to try it again. Campbell also loved showing off her skills from swimming lessons. We had numerous people asking us how she learned to swim so young. I will say I was a bit skeptical about the swimming lessons working for her but she proved me wrong. She does think that she can swim on her own now without any adult assistance. In addition to the water activities there were lots of activities for the kids. The only thing that we participated in outside of the water park was the story time every night. Campbell absolutely loved seeing the characters and I told Austin it is getting me super excited for our trip to Disney World in the spring. She told me numerous times that it was time to start the show. When Violet (which Austin renamed Miley) the Wolf showed up the first night of our trip Campbell was the first one to pop up and give him a hug. Again we had an absolute blast and I cannot wait to turn this into an annual trip for our family. It was a great way to spend time together just the three of us.
