Celebrating the big 50!

My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 28 and all they wanted was to take a family trip to celebrate. We had talked and talked and talked about Hawaii. They went for their 20th, took our family for their 30th, skipped 40th because Mama was watching Campbell for me at that time. After much discussion and unsure if my Daddy could sit through that long of a flight we landed on traveling to St John once again. We had a direct flight out of Charlotte and landed in St Thomas three hours later. We got all settled into our gorgeous house and hit up Coco Jim's for a late lunch/early dinner.

Our first full day we spent at Cinnamon. Our house was located just above Cinnamon so easy peasy. You'll notice a lot of our days look the same and are extra relaxing just the way vacation should be. We had to stop by the Longboard for their famous painkillers as well as some new merch.

The next day we were up and headed to Francis Bay for the day. We snagged a pretty sweet spot with shade for a couple of our folks and had a few animal friends to visit throughout the day. That night we hit up High Tide for dinner.

The next day we made the trek to the South shore and hit up Little Lameshur Bay. It was a task getting to it but we were rewarded with our own private beach and again lots of deer. We had a late lunch at Skinny Legs with the most delicious burgers.

Day 5 I headed to Maho with my parents while the rest of my family hung back and relaxed at the house. They get burned out on the beach after a few days, some of us could go to the beach daily. Many hours were spent on this porch playing chicken and just being together.

Day 6 is always my favorite day on the island. It was our boat day and our trip to Lime Out. We had a great day snorkeling and even saw a sand shark.

The next day we tried to venture over to Trunk but it was super busy so we ended up at Hawksnest. It must've been a completely relaxing day as I only have one picture from the day :-)

The next day we headed back to Cinnamon. That evening Austin & I headed to windmill bar for a drink and then 1864 for dinner. I would highly recommend both.

Our last full day was a good one. Austin & I headed to Trunk while everyone else hung back at the house. It was also my parents anniversary so we celebrated with an incredible dinner at Dave & Jerry's. It was spectacular.

It was an incredible trip. It was so hard coming back and immediately celebrating the 4th of July. No matter how relaxing vacation is re-entry into the real world is hard. Until next time St John, thanks for the memories!
