Campbell's Visitors

Miss Campbell has been quite the busy lady meeting a lot of the people that love her so much. Let's see at the hospital she meet obviously her mommie, daddy, Grandmama (name to be determined by Campbell), Granddaddy, Grammie, Granddaddy, Uncle Chris, Aunt Melissa, Andrea, Uncle Catie, Aunt Crusty Bear (Christianna), Matt, Aunt Kari, Janine, Ryan, Lauren, Andrea, Aunt Sonia, Maribeth, and Chara. I'll upload some pictures of this. At home during her first 6 days she has also met her "sister" Emma, Aunt Leslie, Aunt Mandi, Jeff & Whitnie. She will be getting to meet Miss Emerson this evening and these two are sure to  be best friends being pretty much exactly a year apart. Campbell was born on 4/8 and Emerson was born on 4/9/10. Emerson is such a sweet girl and I am looking forward to watching Emerson & Campbell grow up together.

Campbell had her first visit to the pediatrician on Tuesday. Whenever we left the hospital Campbell's weight had dropped to 5.5 pounds and the pediatrician was a little concerned because that was a little over 10% so the pediatrician and lactation consulted it would be best for Campbell to supplement with a bottle after every other feeding. I hated to have to supplement but we knew it was best for Campbell until my milk came in. She was also looking a little jaundice and she was a 12.5 on the bilirubin test which the on call pediatrician said would easily be solved by her peeing, pooping, and eating hence why the supplementing was necessary. Wouldn't you know that my milk came in Monday after we got home from the hospital and Campbell has been eating like a champ since.

We went to the pediatrician on Tuesday and she had gained 3 ounces since we left the hospital. Her doctor said that was very impressive as most babies gain an ounce a day. He gave us the okay to stop supplementing and verified that her color was improving and did not order another bilirubin test for her. She has been chowing down like no other so I will be interested to see how much she will have gained at our 2 week appointment. He gave her a clean bill of health and said that she looked perfect. That was music to mama and daddy's ears.

We also gave Campbell her first sponge bath Wednesday night which she didn't seem to hate. I am sure she will eventually love the water if she is anything like her Mama & Daddy.

Can I mention how shocked I am by how quickly the baby weight is falling off? I hope it continues at this pace but this morning, exactly one week after having Campbell I have lost 20 pounds. I am eating whatever I want and honestly I am eating a lot less than when I was pregnant because I don't have such a strong appetite. At this point I feel very hopeful that I can be down to my pre-pregnancy weight by my 6 week appointment. I am chomping at the bit to get a clean bill of health so we can start taking walks/jogs with Campbell. I miss exercising and haven't done in so long and feel like my body is craving some heart pumping activity.

Now for picture overload.
