It’s been a long time coming but I finally checked Oxford off of the bucket list. I flew into Memphis midafternoon on Friday along with every other Gamecock it seemed and we made the short drive over to Oxford. We stayed at a cute little Airbnb. It was nothing fancy but served its purpose as we were only there literally to sleep. We then made our way down to the square. It was packed. The square was adorable and had that southern charm. We ended up eating dinner at Bacchus Prime which was delicious. We had heard great things about Boure’ but it ended up being slammed and of course they stopped taking reservations right before our group.
The actually game itself was
bleh but we ended up pulling out a win. We went back to the Grove before making
the walk back to our Airbnb. The campus itself is absolutely spectacular, I may
actually encourage Campbell to visit there when the time comes. We headed back
to the square around 6:00. We tried our luck again at Boure’ but were turned
away again. I’m not convinced it wasn’t because we were wearing our game day
attire. The folks in front of us were told 30 minutes but we were told no
availability. We took our business to McEwen’s and had a great experience. Our
food was delicious and the service was top notch. We were back to our place by
8:00 and asleep by 9:00.
Sunday we were up and ready to hit the road by 8. We
made a stop at Cups a local coffee bar that was the cutest before heading out
of town.
Oxford you are the prettiest and I look forward to seeing
you soon!
