We arrived shortly after lunch into JFK. We grabbed a late lunch at
Ellen’s Stardurst diner checked into our hotel and made our way to Central Park
for our carriage ride.
After our carriage ride we went to see the floats for
the Macy’s thanksgiving day parade being inflated.
We were in for a surprise
when the snow started to pour down and Campbell couldn’t have been more thrilled.
After that we headed back to the room. We weren’t too hungry from lunch so we ordered room service and called it a night.
Thursday Mama and Daddy were up bright and early to
secure us a spot for the parade. We ended up being just across from Bryant
Park. The parade ended up setting the record as the coldest in history.
Campbell and I ended up leaving the parade early and heading back to our room
to warm up and watch the rest on TV. Luckily we still had a partial view from
our room. After we thawed out we took ran over to Grand Central Station for a
quick bite and a treat from Magnolia Bakery before heading to see the Statue of
Liberty.
We headed back to the room to freshen up. We headed to the Rockettes
and then finished out Thanksgiving night at Rock City Cafe. We had a wonderful view of the ice skating rink and the flags wiping outside. It was absolutely frigid
outside!
Friday Mama and Daddy were up early and headed to the
Today show while Campbell and I slept in. We decided to take the Staten Island
ferry to get a better view of Lady Liberty as that was the only thing Campbell
asked to do.
We stopped over at the World Trade Center and to see the 9/11
memorial before heading over to Katz Deli for lunch.
After lunch we headed over
to Top of the rock to check out the city views.
Next we stopped at FAO Swartz
which was probably the highlight of Campbell’s trip.
We had planned on doing
both tours for the hop on hop off but unfortunately we were only able to catch
the downtown loop as it was time to get ready for dinner. We ended up grabbing
dinner at Smith Bar & Grill as it was right across the street from our
show. Mama and Daddy headed to see Jersey Boys and Campbell and I headed to see
Frozen. Both were spectacular.
Saturday morning we had plans to visit Santa at Macy’s in
Herald Square. We made an appointment so we were in and out in no time.
Campbell wanted to hit up the M&M store before we left the city. Lastly she
wanted to ice skate. Bryant Park was right beside our hotel so that was the
last thing we did before we made our way to the airport.
We could’ve really
have used an extra day but there’s always next time! Thanks NYC for the great
memories I hope you’ll be warmer on our next visit!
